Cooking at boarding house
Cooking at boarding house is one of the activities of students whose homes that far away from University. One way to make students in boarding house more efficient is to cook for themselves. By cooking for yourself, you spend less money. So, students can save and the remaining money can be allocated for other purposes. "Why not just buy it? there are so many people selling food, why bother cooking?” actually many people who selling food, sometimes the food isn't suitable according to our tongue. The plus point is that if we cook for ourselves, we can adjust the taste that suitable for us and we can be creative with our favorite ingredients. But, as a boarding house child, it is better to cook in the general kitchen but sometimes if we are too lazy to cook, we buy it (not often).
Because my friend and I brought rice from home. When we're going to shopping at mini grocery, we only buy vegetables, chicken, crackers, chili, etc. Because the stock of red onion, garlic, instant spices, instant noodles, etc. sometimes we bring from home. When I go home, I bring everything that I have to the boarding house, so I can reduce expenses when I'm at the boarding house.
Every time we want to cook, we change the menu. One day, one menu. Because sometimes we get a little bored if we eat the same menu on the next day (tomorrow). Every time, when we're shopping at the mini grocery, we immediately buy vegetables, chicken, tofu, a fermented soybean (tempe), eggs, cabbage etc. for today and the next day so we we're not shopping for the next day.
For the menu that we usually cook are : fried rice, stir-fried spinach, cap cai (stir-fried vegetable dish), chicken soup, fried fermented soybean sauce, noodle omelette, stir-fried eggs and sausage, fried egg tofu, onion chili sauce, etc. Of course, instant noodles are the most preferred instant food for boarding children because they're fast to cook and delicious. However, we must control eating instant noodles once in a week (depends). Don't eat too much instant noodles because it is not good for our health.
And the way we cook, we usually search on google, see videos on YouTube, on Tiktok, there are many cooking tutorials from easy way to difficult one, if you want that too. Sometimes we also cook with other friends, so we all contribute money and eat together. It's even more economical if we contribute money with other boarding friends. We also sometimes make our own snacks such as: Cilok (tapioca ball), martabak mie (thick folded dough filled with noodle), seblak (wet crackers cooked with vegetables and eggs, sausage, and kencur), etc. Actually, there are many photos of the food we cook. Here are some photos that I took :
In conclusion, cooking isn't difficult, as long as there is an intention. Especially if one of your hobby is cooking, it will be much calmer if you can cook a dish than buy it. In addition, the food that we cook is being able to eat according to our taste and the tongue. Of course, it's more cheaper. And also, we can guarantee its cleanliness too.
Thank you for reading my blog :)

I agree with the sentence that cooking is not difficult as long as there is a will. Indeed, all work will be easier and easier to do if there is an intention and that includes cooking. 😆
